Want to make your wedding a true reflection of you and your hubby to be… or do you just want to make it fun and stand out from the traditional trip down the aisle.   On this page you'll find some creative ideas to help you make your wedding an Affair To Remember.

Showers

Cover to Cover
Send a blank journal to each guest with a homemade book jacket listing all the party information (title- A Shower for Shelly, Author, name[s] of the hostess[es]; etc.). Re-create a fictional feast, like the tea party in Alice in Wonderland. Give the bride bookends, his and her reading lights, cook books, a bookstore gift certificate, or a guest book and a fountain pen.

Day at the spa
Print the who, what, where, and why information on a t-shirt or hand towel that says, "Michelle's  Gym." The ultimate in luxury: hire a masseuse to give everyone a ten-minute neck massage. Put out a healthful spread-green salads: mixed vegetables with lo-fat goat cheese: shrimp with black beans. Give the bride massage oil, a terry-cloth robe, monogrammed towels, yoga videos, and a manicure/pedicure set.

The recipe for a good marriage
Send the who, what, when, and where… on a recipe card attached to a wooden spoon. Have each guest bring their favorite dish. Gifts ideas include his and her aprons, cooking utensils, dish towels, trivets, a recipe book, and a recipe box. All guests should attach their favorite recipe to their gift instead of a card.

Ceremony

Destination wedding
This is a perfect way to combine an intimate romantic wedding ceremony with a fantasy vacation by taking the whole party to the honeymoon site. Guests may find this is the perfect way to combine the vacation they need with a family reunion. After the celebration, the newlyweds should go off on their own to another site for some private time. Guests can stay and continue their vacation as they see fit. Guests are responsible for their own airfare and hotel costs.

Candlelight wedding
A candlelight ceremony will surround you in a cloak of beauty and drama. Bride's maids (and groomsmen) could carefully carry candles instead of bouquets. Candles also may take on symbolic meaning at the ceremony if, for example, the couple carry separate candles to light one Unity Candle after the clergy pronounces them husband and wife.  The ideal setting is a late afternoon or evening ceremony or a winter wedding after sunset.

Reception

Nautical
Take the party onto a yacht, yacht club, or beach. Your decorations could be colorful signal flags spelling out your names. The grooms cake could be in the shape of a sandcastle, or anchor. Your centerpieces could be candles placed in the middle of sand, seashells, and starfish. Menu: isn't it obvious? Seafood!
